The Simple Truth about a Christians Relationships 8/30
Sermon Series: The Simple Truths
Sermon Title: The simple truth about a Christian’s Relationships
Text: Matthew 7:1-6
““Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. “Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.” (Matthew 7:1-6, ESV)
““So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets. “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.” (Matthew 7:12-13, ESV)
Theme: Our lives are a complex web of relationships. Each of these is connected in some way with or primary relationship centered on Christ. Once this relationship takes priority then all of the others are altered, some are hindered and some are created. So now we are not to judge or brother but instead serve him. We do not offer our life changing world to those who have decisively rejected it. We concentrate on our upward relationship through prayer and stay aware of false prophets.
